Compassion

Dear Family,

com-pas-sion n.  Actively sympathetic concern for the suffering of another.

As I read this dictionary definition of compassion, it seems to fit the great-grandchildren of Elmer J. and Madalena Guernsey. A few examples:  Kate Guernsey, U.S. Director of Compassion for Migrant Children. Robyn Anderson Large, training director for Support and Child Welfare Professionals.  Margene Caffey, former Deputy Director of the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation.

When writing the cousin blogs I was attracted to a story on Mark “Buzz” Masters………”Gere and Buzz spend time with a charitable project to provide medications and equipment to kids in Costa Rica with Cystic Fibrosis.  In three trips in as many years, his group has been blessed with over three million dollars worth of donated materials to distribute, resulting in a marked improvement into the health and lifespan of scores of children.”

This prompted me to dig farther into this story of our cousin’s “compassion.”   Buzz just returned this month from another mercy trip to Cost Rica.  I think you will enjoy this article about his charitable work.   Double click on this link to read a wonderful story.  costaricaDNAarticle

Best to all,

Jim Lee
